A loco-hauled railtour run by F&W 70s Railtours covering rare track around the Severn estuary on Sunday 15th July 1979. Highlights were: Avonmouth, Tytherington, Gloucester Docks and Sharpness. Motive power was a single Class 20.
20154 runs round its train at St Andrews Road station at Avonmouth. The train had arrived via the freight only line from Filton and was returning the same way.
Next stop was the quarry at Tytherington at the end of the branch from Yate. Another run round - one of many that day.
The end of the line at Gloucester Docks on the branch from Over Junction.
No run round here though. Instead, Gloucester provided 08826 to haul the train back to the main line at Over Junction, where the train reversed again and 20154 took over once more.
Finally the branch to Sharpness Docks was covered. 20154 makes its run round move.
