Trip Workings - Chester District

Part I (Chester and the North Wales Coast)

Taken from the BR Trip diagrams booklet, these are the freight trip workings servicing Chester and the North Wales coast line. Although each diagram specifies a locomotive type, classes 24, 25 or 40 could appear on any of the non-08 workings; even Trip 47 which specified a Dual-Braked loco was regularly worked by a VB only Class 24. It should be noted that although included in these workings, the Class 08 duty at Bangor (Trip 50) finished in October 1976; the journey to Bangor at 3am on a Monday morning at a steady 15mph must have been a joy for the crew.
