Part II (Wrexham & Shrewsbury)

Taken from the BR Trip diagrams booklet, these are the freight trip workings servicing Wrexham and Shrewsbury. For ease of reading, some of the trips have been split up - in particular where Saturday workings are different to the rest of the week.
This page stands some comparison with the page for 1976. Most striking is the almost complete loss of traffic to Brymbo steelworks - with 1 or 2 workings SX, compared with 7 SX and 6 SO in 1976. In October 1982 even this ended and the branch closed, and within the year Croes Newydd yard was no longer in use.
